First Round of Sustainable Fabrics & GreenGurus

Submitted by Jedi Wright on March 11, 2007 - 15:31.

Our first round of sustainable fabrics is here and more are coming throughout the week.

We're very excited about this addition to our current line of fabrics offered and are starting off with some great Hemp, Cotton, Lycra, and Silk in Jersey and Fleece Knit fabric styles. Not only are these fabrics super, high quality but they're also very environmentally sound.

The hemp used in these products is grown without harmful pesticides or fertilizers. Minimal chemicals are used in processing the hemp fiber and the fabric is sold in an unbleached, natural state. All the cotton in the hemp and cotton blends is made from certified organic cotton grown in Turkey. No child or prison labor is used to manufacture these fabrics.

We're currently creating the rest of the product displays for our website and we'll be posting them early this week.

On another note, GreenGurus has recently been brought in to assist and consult in greening our company. We look forward to their valued input, research and solutions to turning a new leaf with our operations.

I'm really glad that you guys are doing hemp blended fabrics, and as soon as you have more selection I'll be back to buy some!! Have you looked into any hemp/tencel blends yet? It's really hard to find and everyone I know that has used it for garments says it the most wonderful fabric! Thanks, and keep me posted!!
